Against the Grain purple corn chips

For corn chip lovers, we have a healthier chip for you that tastes even better! Against the Grain purple corn is a whole grain and naturally gluten free. Purple Corn is rich in antioxidants and has more antioxidant protection than blueberries, acais berries and pomegranate juice.
Unlike most nacho chips that our made from imported masa flour and many added preservatives, Against the Grain nacho chips are manufactured using a century old method called nixtamalization. The process begins with Against the Grain whole purple corn seed which is cooked with lime and then ground in a stone grinder, ensuring the freshness of each batch of nacho’s. Locally grown and cold pressed sunflower oil is used to give the nacho’s their crispiness.
We are clearing out the rest of our 2016 stock and will be offering our cases for wholesale prices until the end of December. Great to stock up for the holiday’s. You can choose to purchase a full case of one flavour or a mixed case. Flavours include sea salt, cinnamon sugar, mexican spice, nacho cheese
Cost:
$55 for a case of 16 ($3.44 each)
$50 for 3+ cases of 16 ($3.13 each)

‘The Craft of Giving’ Artisan Fair, Presented by The Conscious Builder – Saturday & Sunday, October 8-9th, 2016 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Chance Foundation is very excited to announce our second annual Craft Fair “The Craft of Giving,” presented by The Conscious Builder. The event will be held at the Aberdeen Pavilion over Thanksgiving weekend.  Our aim is to engage local crafters and artisans to help raise funds for charity, while promoting local businesses. In this capacity, we are able to raise funds for charity, local vendors increase awareness and make product sales, shoppers contribute to the local economy, and everyone wins! Above and beyond the direct impact on funds raised, we see this as a mechanism to increase awareness about our work, and our supporting sponsors. Our aim is to grow this event, with more vendor tables, shoppers, and funds raised for local children.

Location:  Aberdeen Pavillion, Lansdowne Park, 1015 Bank St, Ottawa, ON, K1S 3W7

Information for vendors: Our show is juried and the participating vendors are selected for their unique style, quality of work and originality of design. If you are interested in purchasing a booth as a vendor or require more information, please contact us. As part of the application process, you will be asked to accept our terms and conditions.

Terms and conditions for vendors are as follows: 1) All work sold and featured at our craft fair must be original, Canadian handmade creations: commercially available goods *WILL NOT* be accepted, 2) Chance Foundation reserves the right to request removal of items not described in the application from a vendors table, or that do not meet our specified requirements/standards, 3) Vendors who do not adhere to our terms and conditions may be refused from subsequent events.

ACCOMPLISHED WITH GREAT SUCCESS:

‘Be an Angel’ Chance Christmas Fair – Saturday, November 28th, 2015

Chance Foundation was very excited to be hosting our first Christmas Fair at the Ron Kolbus Lakeside Center (102 Greenview Ave, Ottawa, ON). Our aim was to promote local artisans in Ottawa while raising money for charity. All funds raised were put towards mental health programs for Ottawa children. The Christmas Fair featured local vendors, crafters, artisans, raffle items, food from local farmers, and music. Together we raised $9,000, had hundreds of shoppers, and featured close to 40 local vendors.

We were also excited to feature amazing local talent at our Christmas Fair. These included:

1) OTTAWA HARMONY SINGERS: The Ottawa Harmony Singers are a small choir dedicated to bringing music and joy to seniors in the Ottawa area.  Our repertoire focuses on songs from before 1960. Many seniors recall their parents or grandparents singing these songs to them.  Some of our songs are serious, but others are quite silly and give us an opportunity to have fun, and we share that fun with the people who come to listen to us.’

2) SPARROW CHILDREN’S CHOIR: ‘The Sparrows Children’s Choir rehearses and performs classical music in concerts and other performances. We have been in Ottawa as part of the Sacred Music Society since 2011 and believe that children as young as four can sing and be drawn into the beauty of classical music. ‘
