‘The Craft of Giving’ Artisan Fair, Presented by The Conscious Builder – Saturday & Sunday, October 8-9th, 2016

Chance Foundation held our second annual Craft Fair “The Craft of Giving,” Presented by The Conscious Builder. The event was held at the Aberdeen Pavilion over Thanksgiving weekend.  Our aim is to engage local crafters and artisans to help raise funds for charity, while promoting local businesses. In this capacity, we are able to raise funds for charity, local vendors increase awareness and make product sales, shoppers contribute to the local economy, and everyone wins! Above and beyond the direct impact on funds raised, we see this as a mechanism to increase awareness about our work, and our supporting sponsors. Our aim is to grow this event, with more vendor tables, shoppers, and funds raised for local children. We are happy to report that we exceeded a total of 1,7000 adult shoppers over the two days

‘Be an Angel’ Chance Christmas Fair – Saturday, November 28th, 2015

Chance Foundation was very excited to be hosting our first Christmas Fair at the Ron Kolbus Lakeside Center (102 Greenview Ave, Ottawa, ON). Our aim was to promote local artisans in Ottawa while raising money for charity. All funds raised were put towards mental health programs for Ottawa children. The Christmas Fair featured local vendors, crafters, artisans, raffle items, food from local farmers, and music. Together we raised $9,000, had hundreds of shoppers, and featured close to 40 local vendors.

We were also excited to feature amazing local talent at our Christmas Fair. These included:

1) OTTAWA HARMONY SINGERS: The Ottawa Harmony Singers are a small choir dedicated to bringing music and joy to seniors in the Ottawa area.  Our repertoire focuses on songs from before 1960. Many seniors recall their parents or grandparents singing these songs to them.  Some of our songs are serious, but others are quite silly and give us an opportunity to have fun, and we share that fun with the people who come to listen to us.’

2) SPARROW CHILDREN’S CHOIR: ‘The Sparrows Children’s Choir rehearses and performs classical music in concerts and other performances. We have been in Ottawa as part of the Sacred Music Society since 2011 and believe that children as young as four can sing and be drawn into the beauty of classical music. ‘

Local Asset – Saturday, November 14th, 2015

Carleton University students hosted a networking event for entrepreneurs in support of Chance Foundation. The aim of the event was to bring together like-minded entrepreneurs in order to showcase new business ventures, harbor new relationships, connect with customers, while raising money for charity.
